State of Search radioshow – episode 83: SES London, Google+ and Linkbuilding with Jackie Hole

After SES London last week Bas and Roy were joined by our blogger Jackie Hole. Jackie attended all three days of SES and saw a lot of sessions so she could fill us in about how SES London 2012 has been.

After the talk about SES there was more discussion on Google+ where users apparently only spend an average time of three minutes per month and they took a look at Google’s announcement saying they had changed ‘something’ to how they treat links.

State of Search radioshow – episode 82: MySpace, Adsense and Pinterest

There wasn’t very much news in the past weeks so Bas and Roy decided to take a trip through memory lane and discuss how now exactly two years ago Google Buzz was launched. In that light new ‘products’ like Pinterest were discussed. Bas also explained about how he lost his Adsense account and a ‘golden oldie’ has returned to the front: MySpace gained a million new users in the last two months.

Bas and Roy were joined today by Lisa Myers, who last week was named “UK Search Personality of the Year”. They discussed the awards and whether or not this would work for a bigger audience like Europe or the US. They also talked about Movember, a charity in which Roy participates and for which Koozai organized a special contest. Off course the new Google+ for Businesses were discussed as well.

State of Search radioshow – episode 65: The Bing – Yahoo transition with Cedric Chambaz

Bas and Roy were joined by Microsoft’s EMEA Marketing lead Cedric Chambaz. Cedric discussed the Bing – Yahoo transition in which the ‘backend’ of Bing and Yahoo is merged, making that you will find the same results on both websites. Cedric explained what they had done and also explained the difference between the transition and the updates to Bing. A must listen to really learn the insights on the transition.

After Cedric left Bas and Roy discussed some of the current developments with Google buying Motorola, patents and Google and Amazon as the main topics.
