GAConfig: Raventools site Helps Webmasters Set Up Their Analytics

gaconfig

As a webmaster you want to keep track of what happens on your website. One of the best tools to do that is Google Analytics. You can see how many people visit your website and you can track how they got there. But Google Analytics can do a lot more than that. The “problem” however for many webmasters is that they have no idea how to configure their Google Analytics so they can track even more.

Now what you could do is take a course, read a good book or scour the web hoping to find articles about Google Analytics which tell you what to do. I think many webmasters do just that. The people at Raventools must have figured they would help these people get set up. Today they are launching gaconfig.com, a website which helps you set up your analytics configuration. (more…)

majestic-registered

Six months ago keyword research tool Majestic SEO announced they were “now able to find fresh back links within 24 hours“. That meant they were speeding up things.

Since than a lot has changed and Majestic has become even faster. That results in the announcement by Majestic that they are letting ALL users get full link data for their own sites from Majestics Fresh Index. Until now non-paying users could only get reports for their own sites from the historic index. (more…)

Majestic SEO Makes Several Changes To Make Things Easier

site-explorer-majestic

One of the leading tools when it comes to competitor link analysis, Majestic SEO, today announces several changes to their product. Majestic calls it “a bit of a delayed spring clean“. Changes are amongst others improved ability to download ALL your back links and more and clearer navigation inside the tool.

Majestic makes clear that the tool has seen an immense growth in the past six months. Not just in users, but also in amount of data analyzed. To keep a grip on this Majestic merged the Standard Report count and Advanced Report count into one new total, making it a bit clearer to the users. A new figure consisting of the sum of the Standard Report count and Advanced Report count is generated to gain some flexibility. (more…)

Google now allows URL submission through Webmaster Tools

submit-to-index

Manual URL submissions have been the laughing stock of the SEO world  for a long time. URL submission services are often seen as scams because a well built website with enough incoming links shouldn’t need URL submissions to find their way to the search engine indexes. However the possibility to manually add URLs is still available in Google, Bing and Yahoo!

Surprisingly Google just announced they will add new ways of submitting new pages and updated pages to Google’s index. (more…)

Linkdex ads more collaboration features

logo-linkdex

Short tool news: Linkdex has made several changes to their link management tool. The changes are mainly around the collaboration platform, something which in my view makes the tool different from others.

The changes are focussed around tasks and working together.

Matt Roberts of Linkdex reports the following changes:

- Project Team Members, Task Lists & Tags are now independent which means you can select more than one filtering criteria at a time to see your to-dos. For example, you might want to see your link building tasks tagged with “guest posts” that are high priority and due this week.

- Linkdex will now send you an email to alert you when a task has been assigned or re-assigned to you.

- New task lists can be added to the left hand navigation

- Task follower feature: see what other members of your team are doing.

- You can now export more than links. You can export rankings, tasks, link prospects and links built to a CSV file.

EXCLUSIVE: Raventools to integrate Webmastertools

Raven-tools

There used to be a time you had a tool for everything. These days are behind us. Many of the (search) tools we use are starting to give you the ‘full experience’. Do all the things you have to do around your website in one place. And why not. It is much easier to do everything within one surrounding than to have ten different places where you need to perform ten different tasks.

Sources say that next week Raven Tools will announce that they have made another step in this direction: they are integrating Google Webmaster Tools into their own tool. You can then do many things you can do within GWT also within Raven Tools. (more…)

Linkresearchtools launches SERP Research Tool

Linkresearchtools has launched a new feature within their tool: the SERP Research Tool. The tool helps you find link prospects in the SERPS of Google and filters out the actual valuable ones. Next to the Basic SEO stats you can add different parameters like traffic indicators, Social Votes and Mozrank. It actually filters the SERPS for you and then filters out the ones you already have a link on. With more filter options you can narrow down your search. It is a pretty impressive feature. Take a look yourself below.

‘Majestic Million’ ranks the top 1 million websites based on links: co.cc wins

Majestic-Badge

There was a time when tools were simply tools and once you would have made them that would be it. Updates would hardly be made. In this time in which things go faster and faster tools tend to send out updates monthly or even weekly. Majestic SEO for example has been evolving a lot since they started, and with success. The tool to use when you are looking to dive into backlinks has now released its latest feature: Majestic Million.

Majestic Million is a list of all the websites you can imagine, based on the number of back links they have. You can then specify which sites you want to see in a list and you can off course see where your own site is ranked. (more…)

Yandex integrates WebVisor in their analytics tool

webvisor-technology

With Google in the middle of working on changes in their strategy and Bing taking advantage by winning some market share in the US as well as in the UK it might be worth looking a bit to the east. There Yandex is slowly becoming a force which in the near future might be one we should take into account.

Yandex has been building on both their market share and their features steadily in the past year. And it is starting to show. They not only fired several features out there, they also launched their english version of Yandex.ru, Yandex.com. This version is pretty good to work with actually and might just be an interesting competitor to Google and Bing.

And Yandex is expanding in different ways. They have now announced it has implemented WebVisor, an analytics tool for tracking user behaviour on a website, which they bought late last year. (more…)

Links are important, so everybody tries to get as many high quality links to their websites as possible. But what some website owners tend to forget is that another type of links is also very important in SEO: internal links.

It is always important to know whether links on your website still work or not. Broken links after all must be fixed as soon as possible. Manually checking all the links is not do-able, so SEO’s look for tools like Xenu. But there are more tools like that.
