Google: One Billion a Month

One Billion, A one with nine zeros: 1000000000. That is a huge number. And that number is now connected to Google. Not because they make that cash (they make more than that), but because it is the number of unique visitors to their websites. A month.

The numbers are astonishing and come from Comscore who released the numbers this Tuesday. Comscore says it is the first time ever that a Internet company hits these kind of numbers. (more…)

UK most Facebook users in Europe, Monaco biggest penetration

Europe is a weird continent sometimes. Every country has its own rules and regulations, every country has its own culture and every country has its own way of using the web. Socialbakers did a small research into Facebook users and country population data in Europe. They found that almost everyone in Monaco for example has a Facebook account.

The numbers show that %-wise Monaco has the biggest penetration of Facebook users with no less than 95.47% penetration to population. That is a lot! You have to keep in mind though that the exact number of Facebook users in Monaco is not high. The small country has got 29,200 actual users. Compare that to the UK which has 29,789,040 Facebook users and Moncaco looks like peanuts. (more…)

Want Social Media Traffic? Facebook best in Europe but loses to Stumbleupon in the US

When you talk Social Media most people immediately refer to two options: Facebook and Twitter. So when a company decides it wants to go and implement Social Media on its website, they right away put up the Tweet and Like or Share buttons. But the question is, what drives the most traffic and what drives the most conversion?

When it comes to driving traffic in the US there is a for some surprising winner to this ‘contest’: not Facebook or Twitter, but Stumbleupon is the biggest social traffic driver in the US. That is what numbers over 2010 from Statcounter show us. StumbleUpon accounted for about 43%, while Facebook accounted for about 38%. Twitter was only good for 5%, a little bit less than YouTube (7%) and a little bit more than Reddit (4%). (more…)
