Majestic SEO now Supports 9 Languages

majestic-seo-9-languages

Majestic SEO is now available in 9 Languages:

  •  French,
  • German,
  •  Italian,
  • Chinese,
  • Russian,
  • Polish,
  • Brazilian Portuguese,
  • Spanish…
  • and English

” Developing and maintaining a site if this scale in multiple languages has been an interesting challenge. The first challenge was to rebuild our site architecture to be able to handle language files. We develop too fast to be able to translate every upgrade into 9 languages, so you need to be able to launch nimbly but handle language files independently. Just getting that right was hard.

Next comes a process. Every time we add or change the site, translation files (we call the delta files) build up with anomalies of English fields/words that have changed since we last upgraded the language files. We can then put delta files into the translation process and make this independent if the function development cycle.

It’s quite a process.” – Dixon Jones – Majestic SEO

Raven pull their Rank Checking feature: a Reaction from other SEO tools

Raven-pulling-string

Raven, one of the most popular SEO tools and digital marketing platforms used by search marketing agencies and in house teams; last week they announced their decision to close the rank checking element of their platform motivated partially by pressure applied by Google, who aren’t keen on the scraping of their results for rank checking.

If you’ve not come across the story before I recommend reading this thoughtful piece on the decision written by their CEO Patrick. Which I think is a glowing example of how to handle a difficult decision like this.

However while many have admired how Raven have handled the changes it’s inevitably lead to a scramble of their customers exploring other options for rank checking.

I thought it would be interesting to reach out to some other players in the space to get their take on where they see rank checking going in the future. (more…)

Life in the Expo Hall – 48 Hours with Majestic SEO – Pubcon 2012

majestic-header

Having been spent a lot of time as a conference blogger in the last year writing an overview of speaker sessions, I thought I would turn the tables  and spend some time with the people that in essence pay for the conferences we attend - the advertisers and exhibitors.

I recently had the privilege to spend a Bussmans holiday in Las Vegas at Pubcon 2012 on the Majestic SEO stand to find out what it takes to be an exhibitor whilst still continuing to market and run an award winning business.

Not quite a fly on the wall documentary, but an insight into how much hard work the advertisers and exhibitors put in to making the Expo Hall just as interesting to visit and how it is so much more than free mouse mats and flyers.

Majestic SEO Adds Bulk Backlinks Tool with GWT

majestic-seo

In good old fashioned SEO, which still is very important (and far from dead), there is much to gain in analysing your back links. Especially with updates like Google Penguin back links to your site can not only make your rankings, but also break them.

Google has different tools which can help you get under way in analysing your own back links and even potentially cleaning them (in which the Disavow tool comes in handy). In Google Webmastertools for example Google also presents you with a number of back links to your site. Not all of them, but it does give you a nice insight in which links Google feels might be important.

As an SEO or even webmaster you want to analyse these links to find if some need changing or in case of ‘bad links’, if some need removal. That can be a lot of work. Majestic SEO today rolls out a feature which will help SEOs get under way with this: the “Bulk Backlinks Checker” tool with Google Webmaster Tools. This tool allows you to upload links in bulk, from Google Webmastertools, and check them. (more…)
