Meet Our 2011 Bloggers: Lisa Myers

Lisa Myers

The end of the year is approaching rapidly so it is time to start counting down to the New Years. And I always like to do that in a special way. Because this blog is something special. Special because the authors of this blog are not only very smart people who write great content, but also very nice people who all have one thing in common: they have a specific drive and they are genuine.

As you may have noticed I am highlighting the bloggers on State of Search, because they are a very special group of people. That certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ is something I look for in bloggers, and they all have that. So I decided they deserve a bit of attention. Today its ladies day starting with Lisa Myers. (more…)

They also talked about Movember, a charity in which Roy participates and for which Koozai organized a special contest. Off course the new Google+ for Businesses were discussed as well.

All the Winners of the UK Searchawards: Lisa Myers Personality of The Year! #searchawards

UK-search-awards

Tonight in London the UK Searchawards have been given out. Our very own Lisa Myers was voted as Search Personality of the Year. Other winners were Fast Web Media, who won no less than four awards, including the Best Agency Award.

The ceremonies in the Emirates Stadium saw a lot of winners, which you can find below. The jury explained that it was very hard deciding on the winners because there were many cases, but also some great cases missing. The winners however can be very proud of their awards! Congratulations to all of them. (more…)

A little bit over a year after the first episode of State of Search on Webmasterradio episode 50 kicked off with two regular guests on the show: Peter Young and Lisa Myers. They talked a little bit about the past 50 shows, were surprised by a look into the past from Brasco and off course they also talked search and social.

Google’s (failed?) social efforts were talked about, the Panda update just has struck in the UK so that was part of the discussion and SEOMoz’s preliminary research results were commented on. A very enjoyable 50th show!

The shownotes are below. (more…)

SEO: Where to Next?

So where is SEO going? Like lifes many mysteries, similar to “Why are we here?” and “If a tree fell in a forest would it make a sound?”. There is no clear defined answer which is why SES kindly put together a panel of experts within the online environment to discuss…

It is always nice to be in an open session, I feel it allows the speakers more freedom to say what they want on a variety of aspects of search. More importantly it lets us hear them talk with their guard down; this hope of a slip up was mainly aimed at the Google employee, Maile Ohye.
