Unfortunately I was unable to attend #linklove this year but the Distilled conference’s are some of my preferred simply down to the quality of the sessions. So like any self respecting SEO I was hooked on twitter and there was a particular session by Ian Lurie from Portant Inc on Enterprise Link Spam Analysis you can find full details on the session from our very own Gianluca Fiorelli by clicking the previous link.

Portant then released a white paper on “Google Declining Spam Tolerance.”

Last Year I wrote a post about 16 ways to visualise back link data, to be honest I could have listed a hundred but didn’t for two reasons, one blog writing does takes time and two I listed ones I often used and found productive in one form or another.

Of course the landscape in search has changed over the past 12 months with the obvious question, how reliable is link data when a disavow tool has been introduced?

CEMPER.COM Announce LinkDetox & New Direction for Consultancy

Yesterday CEMPER.COM announced that after 3 years of innovation of their tools, they will be stopping link building services as a separate service to new clients and changing focus towards the creation of more Link Research Tools.

We spoke to Christoph C. Cemper about the change of Direction and about the New Link Detox Tools.

Understanding Your Link Profile – Part Two

Hopefully if you are reading this then you’ve already read last month’s part one. If you haven’t already read it then I’d suggest doing so or this won’t make a great deal of sense! In part one I went through some basics such as collecting data from tools such as Open Site Explorer and Majestic; moving on to explain how you can pull in domain page rank using SEO Tools for Excel and checking whether or not your links are live with the custom filters in Screaming Frog.  The idea behind part one was to help you to get to the point at which you can quickly filter through your data and identify links that might be worth considering for removal.
