An Interview With Julie Joyce – speaker at SMX East

In a few weeks time SMX East starts in New York. The organization has again been able to make an impressive agenda with high level speakers from around the globe. State of Search is media partner and will be bringing you updates from New York and also heading up to the event we will bring you great information (and a discount).

We already talked to Danny Sullivan about the show and his views on the world of search. In the next weeks we will be publishing a few more interviews with speakers at the conference. Today we are proud to open this series with one of the nicest and most fun people in search: Julie Joyce, who you might know from SEO Chicks.

Is a Better Google Solving Problems That Don’t Exist?

Sometimes you run into a video which immediately triggers you. Like the video from Big Think, who interviewed Malcolm Gladwell. Galdwell is a staff writer with The New Yorker and tends to look at things from a different perspective. Which is something which triggers the mind.

Exclusive Interview: Danny Sullivan about SMX East, Google and a changing industry

Conference season has started again. If you are an eager (search) marketer wanting to learn stuff you can really make some steps in the next few months with lots of conferences around. Off course State of Search will be present. Sometimes speaking, sometimes blogging.

Mid-September we will be at SMX Stockholm where no less than three bloggers are speaking. A week before that however is SMX New York. We will try to get coverage from there too. Leading up to SMX East we are already looking forward to this conference. We talked to organizer, editor in chief of Searchengineland, and probably the most famous person in search next to Matt Cutts, Danny Sullivan about the show and his view on the current developments in search. Google News creator Krishna Bharat talks journalism

Almost lunchtime on the Friday afternoon and waiting for the next World Cup match? You have one hour to ‘kill’. How about using that hour to listen to Google News creator Krishna Bharat.     Doing something new: (live) interviews coming from A4U Munich

    In little over a week’s time one of the bigger international affiliate / search events in Europe will start in Munich, Germany: A4U Expo Europe. This event again takes place in the Hilton Munich Park Hotel in Munich and will give us an insight on the world of affiliates in combination with search and social. How do affiliates handle the Panda Update? Is Social “the holy grail” for Affiliate Marketing? All questions that will be answered in Munich next week.

    State of Search is as always media partner for A4U Munich. We will again be covering the event as usual, but this time we are doing something very special.     Bing’s European boss Cedric Chambaz: “Search is a very personal experience”

    It is about time we start to take Bing seriously. They’ve reached a market share of 30% in the US, are the only one growing in the UK and just got out of beta in France. Still many in Europe don’t consider them to be a grown up player in the market. Bing’s intent is to change that.

    At the head of EMEA Marketing Lead – SMB Advertising for Microsoft Advertising Cedric Chambaz is working on just that. He spoke at the International Search Summit in Munich and will be speaking at SMX London (on the same panel as me by the way, so I am honored!) in May, which is combined with the London version of ISS.
