Google+ changes are coming, here is a wish list

Google+ is only two weeks young but already people are requesting, no demanding changes to the service. Some forget that the service is still in beta-mode. They claim that the lack of some functionalities could be the reason Google+ won’t be beating Facebook.

Even though Google+ might have a different goal all together, Google also wants to please the users and really build the network. After all, the more users, the more data they get. Well, changes are coming! But what kind of changes? (more…)

Irony at its best: Zuckerberg sets Google+ settings to private

e all love numbers and we all love to know who is most popular, or at least, who has the most followers, so when the people from Twittercounter built Socialstatistics to measure who has the most followers on Google+ we all dove on it. And we saw that, oh irony, Mark Zuckerberg was the most followed user on Google+.

Well, not anymore. If you go to Socialstatistics now you will see the face you will see on top of many lists of social tools: Robert Scoble. Did he pass Zuckerberg in popularity? Did Zuckerberg leave Google+? No, he didn’t, Zuckerberg isn’t there anymore because he decided to change his privacy settings. His numbers now cannot be read anymore. His profile is still there. An Inside look into Google +

Google + launched last Tuesday. We then discussed the first responses right away on our radioshow. A day after Leo Laporte and his friend from This Week in Google off course also addressed the newly launched Google product. And they (Leo, Jeff Jarvis and Gina Trappani) were joined by none other than Vic Gundotra and Bradley Horowitz from Google who were the most important people behind Google +. Google to take first steps to integrate + into search soon: realtime is gone

It has been the buzz of the internet world in the past week, and will most probably continue to be so in the upcoming weeks or even months: Google +. Opinions on the new released Google product differ. And these opinions sometimes differ dramatically. Some people compare it to Google Wave and already have declared it dead before it has even come alive. Others believe Google has finally struck gold when it comes to social.

Most people however believe that this really is it. This is Google’s Social Network, and this is what we will have to work with in the future. But don’t be fooled: Google has just started. And we will see next steps pretty soon. Starting with realtime search, which has disappeared from Google, for now. (more…)
