Starting next week: the State of Search radioshow on webmasterradio

February 24, 2010 General No Comments Bas van den Beld

If you have been following what we have been doing over the past year you will know we have a Searchcowboys radioshow on Webmasterradio. Every Tuesdaynight at 8PM here in Holland (which is 7 in the UK, and in the US it’s at 2pm on the East Coast and 11am on the West Coast) Roy Huiskes and myself discuss the state of the search market. Yesterday we had our last Searchcowboys radioshow. And no, we are not going to stop doing the show, we are going to rebrand! Starting next week we will be hosting the State of Search radioshow!

So why the change? It is pretty simple actually. With the launch of this new site the name of the show was too much connected to the “old site” which is confusing. To keep it all clear we are ‘rebranding’ the show to the State of Search radioshow. This does mean some changes. We will not only have to change the name, but also the logo and, not un-important, the feed. So if you have subscribed to i-tunes, be sure to change your feed starting next week. We will let you know the new feed a.s.a.p.!

Last night it was the last ‘regular’ Searchcowboys show. Roy and I were joined by no other than one of our writers, Nichola Stott. You can listen to the show below where you can also find the shownotes. Hope to ‘see’ you next week in the chatroom for the State of Search show!

1st part:

Changing the name
Because of the change in website we have to make a change in the name of the show also. We explain why.

Our guest: Nichola Stott
Nichola Stott is our guest, she is a blogger for SEO-Chicks and Founder of theMediaFlow. The former Yahoo! Employee also blogs for StateofSearch. She introduces herself.

We talked about Bing and Yahoo since Nichola is an ex-Yahoo employee. Nichola wrote a post on Bing in 2010 on StateofSearch. With her Yahoo-background she can give an interesting insight.

3rd part:

Do we like Sphinn?

One of the services which are popular used for promoting articles is Sphinn. You can like it or not, but one guy now really hates not the service itself, but the rules of the service. The way he addressed that however was wrong, so we all agree.
