The panel consisting of two State of Search-bloggers Sam Crocker and Bas van den Beld as well as Niels Dörje, Partner at Tandler-Doerje and Simon Sundén, Co-Founder of Lissly talked about this with moderation from Sara Andersson, Founder and Senior Strategist, Search Integration Sweden AB. State of Search radioshow – episode 66: Earth quakes and Google with Li Evans

With Roy being away this week Bas was joined by Li Evans of Libeckim Marketing who was “hit” by the Earthquake in the US just before the show. Bas and Li looked at how the earthquake was ‘received’ on Google and Bing: and Bing won.

In the rest of the show they also talked about Google+, how to handle different social accounts, SES which Li covered for State of Search, and Google+.

State of Search radioshow – episode 65: The Bing – Yahoo transition with Cedric Chambaz

Bas and Roy were joined by Microsoft’s EMEA Marketing lead Cedric Chambaz. Cedric discussed the Bing – Yahoo transition in which the ‘backend’ of Bing and Yahoo is merged, making that you will find the same results on both websites. Cedric explained what they had done and also explained the difference between the transition and the updates to Bing. A must listen to really learn the insights on the transition.

After Cedric left Bas and Roy discussed some of the current developments with Google buying Motorola, patents and Google and Amazon as the main topics.

The show this week started off with the talk about Google +, Google launched their Social Network just before the show so Bas, Roy and guest Sean Sewell discussed what it was, and what the first thoughts about it were.

Sean Sewell was the guest on the show this time. Sean Sewell is the Director for Lead Generation for Performance Horizon Group, a company that is dedicated to revolutionising the lead generation and affiliate space in the UK. In that role he became very knowledgeable on the topic of coupon sites like Groupon, Living Social and Google Offers. In the second part of the show the future of those sites was discussed.

Bas and Roy were joined today by Jon Henshaw, one of the co-founders of Raventools. He talked about the latest developments in the tool which lead to the discussion on the importance of integrated tools and the way Raventools listens to its clients. After the first break the latest news from Google coming from Inside Search was discussed and in the final part the new Yahoo / Bing and Google initiative schema.org was analyzed.
