There is a totally different metric in optimising for YouTube and the other Search Engines like Google and Bing.

YouTube is all about, number of views, comments, tags & titles (that is similar with SE optimization) and a whole lot more. But one thing I noticed is that when you optimise for Youtube, you get a pretty good ranking in Google and Bing too with a little effort on link building.

I call it "cross-platform optimisation"

I'm testing the following grey tip ;-) I definitely see an increase in views but insight statistics from youtube take ages to refresh so can't back it up yet wit statistical data... when testing is done I'll post the data.

After a video is popular on YouTube, you can edit the category and get it to rank in a new category using the traffic that was built in a different vertical. This tactic surprised me in that I did not know you could change the video after publishing in that manner, though I’m surprised by how well it works. Please keep in mind this only works for videos with existing high traffic.

Found the tip on the blog from David Dalka
