It’s December and we’ve decided to end the first official year of State of Search in style. We will be looking back at 2010 and looking forward to 2011 in different ways with guests, posts and elections. Soon we’ll be looking at the best posts of the year on State of Search, but we are doing more! Starting with…
The Conference of the Year 2010
As you know State of Search is the blog to be at when it comes to coverage of events. And there have been many many conferences out there last year about Search and/or Social. And we are looking for the best one out there. And we want to know from YOU what you think was the best conference of 2010. We’ve nominated several conferences below, but we might have missed a few, so we would like to know from you if you would nominate another show which is not in this list. For now we want to know which four conferences you would nominate, from this list and even ones which are not on the list. Starting next week you’ll be able to vote for the best conference of 2010!
The nominees at this point are:
SES London
SES Amsterdam
SES New York
SES Chicago
SES San Francisco
SES Berlin
SMX London
SMX Munich
SMX East
SMX West
International Search Summit London
International Search Summit Berlin
International Search Summit Seattle
Conversion Conference Hamburg
Conversion Conference London
SEO Pro Training Seminar
Think Visibility
Brighton SEO
SASCON 2010
Social Media Marketing San Francisco
Pubcon
Affcon
Blueglass 2010
The Next Web
LeWeb
Search and Social Summit
So how are we going to do this? Next week we’ll be bringing back this list to a short list on which you can vote to elect the best conference of 2010 which we’ll be highlighting a lot in the coming period. So leave a comment with your nominees and we can get this started!
Also, please help us spread the news and tweet out this election by using this link.
DON’T FORGET TO GIVE YOUR NOMINATIONS!

Definitely ThinkVisibility as it took my conference cherry!
Dan
SEOktoberfest is definetly missing on this list
Agreed Marcus, I was thinking that just now
. But I’ll also give a first heads up. My four favorites (I won’t vote for teh one I wasn’t at):
A4U London, SES London, SES New York and SASCON were my favorites closely followed by ISS
Too bad SMX Stockholm is missing this year!
If you want you can nominate it Martijn, name your favorites and if others support you it might get on the shortlist!

I’ll go for three, in no particular order :-
Think Visibilty March 2010,
SEOmoz Pro October 2010
and Think Visibility September 2010
all excellent, educational and very friendly
People tend to nominate and vote for the ones they have been to of course … top of my list would have to be A4U Munich (&London..but I think Munich was awesome). I’d also have to nominate the London Affiliate Conference (LAC) from Jan2010, back again in Jan2011.
SEO Pro Training Seminar was the bomb!!
Think Visibility for me, each one just seems to get better
Think Visibility gets my nomination, incredible value and some great speakers.
Think Visibility all the way, the format and people are awesome, a great weekend!

It’s hard to evalutate an event if you don’t go to all events, but my vote goes for SEO Pro Training Seminar.
And, uys, you forget Congreso SEO Profesional, in Spain. Assitants to other events (SEOCharlie, Connor O’Connor) thought it was has hard as SES Advanced.

Hi all, the nominations are unfortunately closed already, we started the actual voting here: http://www.stateofsearch.com/vote-for-the-best-conference-of-2010/
But I tell you what, if you get enough ‘votes’ in the comments you will get a special mention
+1 for SEOPro in Spain http://www.congresoseoprofesional.com/noticias/referencias-y-seguimiento-del-congreso-seo-2010/

By the way, it is smarter to just name the conference in stead of putting in the link, the Spam-detection will otherwise probably block your comments
+1 for Congreso SEO Profesional #seopro in Valencia, Spain
Congreso SEO Profesional #seopro Valencia, España
