The end of the year is approaching rapidly so it is time to start counting down to the New Years. And I always like to do that in a special way. Because this blog is something special. Special because the authors of this blog are not only very smart people who write great content, but also very nice people who all have one thing in common: they have a specific drive and they are genuine.
It is time to give our bloggers some attention, since they provide us with so much great content. Another youngster now: Marcus Taylor
What post are you are most proud of this year?
The post I’m most proud of this year has to be ‘What Happens When You Build 10,000 Dodgy Links to a Domain in 24 Hours‘, which received a rather overwhelming 293 tweets, and was featured on The Guardian, The Huffington Post, SEOmoz Whiteboard Friday, Search Engine Roundtable and many other blogs.
What was your (personal or business, or both) highlight of 2011?
My highlight this year has to be writing and launching Get Noticed with Rob – the whole process was amazing fun and introduced me to some amazing people.
What are you ‘wishing’ for 2012?
I’m spending the majority of next year travelling around Australia and the South Pacific, so I’m wishing to try lots of amazing new experiences and meet lots of new people down under… and that I don’t get punched by any Kangaroos or attacked by any snakes and spiders, of course!
A personal thought about Marcus
Marcus is one of the ‘strange ducks’ in the State of Search pond. He is not your average SEO. Actually, he is not an SEO at all you could say. His speciality lies in the Social area. Something he even wrote a book about.
And in that area he is very knowledgable. He can tell you cases because he tests stuff and he makes sure his tests are good. So whenever he says something, you better believe it .
Marcus, you will be taking some huge steps in 2012, even outside of Europe. I want to wish you all the best in your efforts and we hope to see you back on State of Search!
