An exciting new cooperation takes place in the world of tools, SEO and WordPress. Linkdex, the SEO tool we recently reviewed with great enthusiasm, will be showing up in a surprising place: Yoast’s WordPress SEO Plugin.

Joost de Valk has built and expanded this plugin a lot in the past year and not without success. The plugin has been downloaded over 200.000 times already. The newest update will bring the number of downloads up really fast.

What does the integration mean?

Yoast has integrated the Linkdex Page Analysis integration into his SEO plugin. For those of you who know the plugin: it means that there is a new “tab” in the plugin, called Page Analysis, which will give you SEO information on the current post, supplied by Linkdex.

On his blog Yoast explains:

“As you can see, there are three different types of messages: warnings, notices and messages. The messages are in the bottom, as they tell you stuff you probably don’t have to do anything about. The notices are above them, they can range from saying “No images appear in this page, consider adding some as appropriate” or, if you do have images but didn’t use your focus keyword in the alt tag it’ll say: “The images on this page do not have alt tags containing your keyword / phrase”.”

It is the “basic SEO tasks” which makes Linkdex so useful for the ‘smaller’ SEOs that is integrated here. That is why the combination is so perfect: WordPress is the platform which is used by many site owners who either do their own SEO or have smaller SEOs working for them. Best of all: it is free, and as Joost states:

“the new content SEO functionality featured in the plugin is 100% free and will remain free and open source. There is no catch.”

Joost only gets money when you sign up for Linkdex using his links underneath the box. Not a big prize to pay I would say.

Joost exclusively told State of Search:

“I’m very excited to finally offer a free solution to all WordPress bloggers out there to effectively optimize their content.”

The updated plugin will most probably be available pretty soon. I can only say I can’t wait to use it :) .
