James Agate – Advanced Link Building Workshop

1. What can attendees expect to learn?

The inner workings of our end-to-end link building process at Skyrocket… and hopefully some stuff that they can take away and implement in their own company or agency.

There will be a real focus on the nitty gritty of day to day link building and managing a team of link builders so if you are looking for me to preach to you about the future of link building then this probably isn’t the one for you.

2. What is the one thing from your workshop which people will be talking about when they leave?

I suspect there will be a fair amount of surprise as to our structure and just what goes into securing each link BUT hopefully some pleasant surprise that link building doesn’t have to be such an unpredictable beast.

3. What interested you most about running this workshop at BrightonSEO?

What attracted me to running the workshop was that link building is a topic on everyone’s lips but at the same time is something that we hear people day after day are still struggling with. I’d like to try and help by presenting some of the ways we work.

4. If you had to give away one link building tip, what would it be?

Think about diversity in everything you do. That’s not just at a higher tactical level i.e. infographics & guest posts but even at a granular level looking at locations of the links you get (at the end, in the middle etc). Avoiding footprints should be a key theme for anyone building links in 2013.

Carla Marshall – Video SEO Workshop

1. What can attendees expect to learn?

That Video SEO is both easier and harder than they expected it to be. There are a specific set of best practices that need to be followed (and built on, played with, tested etc) and it can seem very daunting at first. However, by the end of the day attendees should have a thorough grounding in what it takes to create good video content and how to promote it so they get the best ROI.

2. What is the one thing from your workshop which people will be talking about when they leave?

Hopefully, how to put it all into practice. Optimising for video publishing can seem intimidating but when you understand the basics – and particularly how they relate to your campaigns – you’ll find that knowledge influences the whole of the creative and seo process.

3. What interested you most about running this workshop at BrightonSEO?

It’s the chance to pass on the knowledge I have to people who really want to learn and then run with it themselves. I love the fact that it’s an all day workshop so we’ll have the chance to go into things in depth.

4. If you had to give away one Video SEO tip, what would it be?

Informational videos stand a much better chance of appearing higher in the Blended Search results than sales videos so take this into consideration when creating and also when optimising.
