Almost simultaneously with the announcement of SSL Search going global Google announced that it is taking your search history across devices.
This means that if you are searching on your desktop when logged in and you go to your tablet or phone, provide you with information on the place you searched for on your desktop.
Google will show ‘recent’ icons which will show information about places you recently searched for. This means that if you for example are preparing for a city trip you could be doing some searches about that specific city. When you then take your phone on that trip it will show you information about the city.

The “recent” icon is annoying as hell. I did a google now voice search regarding the height of the Eiffel tower, and then later noticed that a “1″ had appeared above the “recent” icon. I clicked the icon, and there was info on the clickable phone number and address of the Eiffel tower. I certainly didn’t need EITHER of these things. Just wanted the height info. The “1″ wouldn’t go away even after being clicked on. I ended up having to shut off my google history, which I didn’t want to have to do. Even just shutting off recent places didn’t get rid of the damn “1.”
