Facebook Slowly Rolling Out Facebook Offers, Watch Out Groupon

Facebook-offers

It seems as if Facebook has started to slowly roll out Facebook offers. It seems as if they are contacting advertising clients who now are the only ones who can use it.

Facebook also published the video below on their YouTube channel explaining what Facebook offers is. Facebook has been testing offers for a while and has had different types of services just like this, but this time the Social giant seems serious. Rolled out like this Facebook Offers could mean a huge competitor for Groupon.

So what its it?

As the video says: offers are a free way to receive discounts from businesses, brands and organizations. Liking a page means you will also be able to see and get their offers. Facebook will then e-mail you with the offer.

That e-mail you can take to the business who does the offer, much like Groupon.

Check the entire video:

Simplyzesty has some quotes from Facebook about offers:

“At this time, offers are only available to managed advertising clients. If you have an account manager at Facebook, please reach out to them to start posting offers from your Page. We’re working on expanding the number of Pages eligible to post offers and expect to make offers available more broadly soon.”

and

“It doesn’t cost anything to post or claim a Facebook Offer. To increase the number of people who see your offer, consider running an ad or sponsored story.”

Watch out Groupon

So Facebook here will be doing more or less what Groupon and Livingsocial are doing: special offers for you to take to the businesses.

The biggest difference here is that you don’t have to sign up for anything, you will just see the offers, of the companies you liked, right there in your Facebook timeline. Which off course is the perfect place to put these offers, after all, people are already there, they don’t have to go anywhere else.

This could mean some serious competition for Groupon and their clones, because where would you as a business want to be..?
