With the Google Project Glass dominating the news when it comes to Google in the past week it is clear that Google is not just focussing on search anymore, but that they are mainly a technology company now. And if you talk Google and Technology you have to talk about Vint Cerf.
In this Friday Talk Cerf (VP & Chief Internet Evangelist, Google) discusses the changing world of technology today. It’s a talk from the “Atmosphere 2011” Google conference from November last year in which “the cloud” was the central topic. (more…)
Now Social Media has a lot of influence on what the world looks like these days, but does Social Media mean the end of a gender? Deputy Director of the Norman Lear Center, Johanna Blakley makes this statement in this TED Talk.

We all want to predict the future and we do that by looking at the past and the present. Many businesses think they have the key to the future.
Gerd Leonhard, founder of GreenFuturists.com talks about how many businesses still get it wrong and how connected and sharing is important.
It is something which is important. You might be able to get the attention of the search engine and rank your site, the next step is probably even more important: the clicks to the landing page and what people do there.
You want people to stay on your site or at least do what they are ‘supposed’ to do there. But how to do that? This ‘conversion’ is an entire study and a very interesting one. Bryan Eisenberg talked about how to build the perfect landing page in Antwerp last year. His presentation called “Anatomy of the Perfect Landing Page” you can find below. At formstack they made an infographic about the same topic, which is below Bryan’s presentation. Start learning! (more…)
This week in Barcelona the biggest technology driven event takes in Europe place in Barcelona. Mobile is what you at the moment could call the leading technology. Google knows that and wants to be in the center of where it all happens so is moving mobile quickly.
That is why Eric Schmidt, who doesn’t do that many actual keynotes, decided it was ok to take the stage in Barcelona. Below you will find the entire talk, which not surprisingly has a lot of “Android” written all over it.
This talk is a TedX talk from Senior Vice President for Edelman Digital who has done social media, marketing and business strategy for multiple clients such as eBay, BlackBerry, and PepsiCo. At this TedxTalk he talks about re-inventing Social Media. Or re-venting the wheel? You decide.
Olivier Blanchard is what one would call a “Social Media Guru”. Blanchard wrote several books, amongst which “Social Media ROI”. Earlier this month he talked in Amsterdam about the future of social business.
If you would like to see the slides you can find them here.
With 2012 just starting its interesting to see if predictions for 2011 came through or not. At LeWeb 2010, just before the end of the year, Jeremiah Owyang talked about trends for 2011.
He talked about “Social Media And Big Business” in 2011. Was he right? What do you think?
Most people either love or hate Gary Vaynerchuk. But whether you like him or not, there is no denying he is a successful entrepreneur who knows how to use the web.
Vaynerchuk is a passionate speaker so his talks will keep you awake. And trust me, you will have fun and learn something. Take a look at his talk at Inc 500 Seminar 2011.
Wil Reynolds is one of the most appreciated experts in the search industry. Wil spoke at the Affiliate Summit last year in New York. His keynote was insightful and had some nice learning elements in it. Enjoy, oh and skip the first 6 minutes which only has some practical information about the Summit in it.
Because of the enormous amount of news last week we skipped one Friday Talk to come back with a bang. Today you can bookmark this page and safe it to take an hour and twenty minutes somewhere this weekend to sit back and listen to Andrew Hogue who now heads up search at FourSquare, but who at the time of this presentation last year was working for Google on Google Squared. He discusses entities and will give you an insight in what we can expect the next few years. Enlightening!
