Friday Talk: Rebecca Saxe: How We Read Each Other’s Minds

I have been talking about how psychology influences marketing a lot lately. I’ve also pointed out that Google has figured that out as well and is ‘working our minds’. Therefore this Friday Talk is a bit different than usual, less search, more psychology and human mind, but a lot to learn again!

Friday Talk: Guy Kawasaki at the Parallels Summit 2012

So our Friday Talk is back this week with a talk by Guy Kawasaki, a well known name in the social industry. Some regard him as a ‘spammer’ other as an ‘entrepreneur’ who gets everything out of what he does. In both cases there is a lot to learn from what he does and says.

Friday Talk: Jean-Benoit Van Bunnen About Bing’s Search Strategy

There always is a lot of talk about Google, but what are Microsoft’s plans with Bing? Are they going to get into the serious business? Many want Bing to succeed, just because they believe Google needs competition.

In this Friday Talk you get to listen to the plans that Microsoft has with Bing, or at least the plans they had a year ago. Bing’s Jean-Benoit Van Bunnen talks about that at the Search University.

Friday Talk: Guy Winch on “Complaining the Right Way to Get Results”

This Friday we have a talk which is much different from talks we are used to at conferences like SMX, SES or SAScon. This talk is by Guy Winch, who is a psychologist, author, speaker and occasional stand-up comic. He wrote a book called “The Squeaky Wheel: Complaining the Right Way to Get Results, Improve Your Relationships and Enhance Self-Esteem”.

The book is said to be the “first science-based look at our complaining psychology.” Complaints? Yes complaints. Because most things tend to start with complaints. Managing those can really make an impact.

Try and listen to this talk not just as a person who might (sometimes, right ;) ) complain, but also as a marketer who can use this in a psychological way. (more…)
