Americans Have Become Impatient Online

11 months ago 1 Comment

Is Social Media Making Us Not So Social?

It is a complaint from many ‘old skool’ people: social media makes that people are only looking at their screens, they are not in a ‘normal conversation’ anymore. You are hearing these remarks more and more often, and if you look around you, you will indeed see many people staring at their phones. But is it true? Is Social Media really making us less social? What do you think? (more…)

Germany – Holland on Social Media

11 months ago 1 Comment

As a Dutchman this is not an easy post to make. Last week Holland lost (big time) to Germany at the Euro 2012 Football Champhionships. Now that is not something you as a Dutchman want to be reminded off too much. But with Social Media this has become relatively impossible. Because there is so much discussion going on about it and it doesn’t go away.

The Germans (they won so it makes sense) decided to put all the Social Media activity in an infographic. That brings some interesting data to light.

The History of Business Behind Facebook

With Facebook now being a ‘real’ company with stocks and all (even though they aren’t going at the rates intended) it is interesting to look at Facebook and see how the business is set up.

What The Penguin?

Google is releasing animals this year. First Panda’s now Penguins. But what does that all mean? And how can we protect ourselves from these animals who seem to be eating away traffic from many sites. The answer seems simple: improve your meals. They seem to be eating only ‘bad food’.

The latest update is the Penguin Update. Ewebmarketing decided to take different elements from that update and put them in an infographic, so for this Friday’s infographic it’s Penguin time. And let us know what you think of this infographic! It’s different to the one we posted before! Also be sure to take a look at Bryan’ts post 10 Post Penguin Link Building Tips.

We as marketers, especially those working in online and more specific search, should adapt and make the most out of it. But why would anyone really switch? Infographiclabs gives you twenty reasons to switch. Tell us, is one of them enough to make you move?

Content Marketing and Local SEO

In the mean time we should all be aware of the fact that local really plays a huge part and our content should be crafted so it is beneficial for local purposes as well. This infographic looks at content marketing and local SEO.

Google Ranking Factors 2012 in One Overview

There are many many rankingfactors. Some more important than others, some more focussed on than others. It would be nice if you just had a checklist: do this and do that and you will rank. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, it doesn’t work that way. There are many factors to take in account and each one can make a difference, or not.

To get a grip on which factors are important this infographic by Martin Missfeldt is a very handy one, because it clusters rankingfactors (not all of them, but quite a few) in major topics: Social, Backlinks, Author/Brand and On page. A very nice overview.  (more…)
