Happy All-Hallow’s Day State of Searchers! Or All Saints Day for those that prefer. Let’s start this post with a little ‘Did You Know’ fact just to ensure it is educational from top to bottom. So, did you know…

“In Western Christian theology, All Saints Day commemorates all those who have attained the beatific vision in Heaven.” (Thank you wikipedia). That sounds pretty special to me, a vision of happiness, perfection and clarity. One can dream eh.  But on that note, how about a little happiness and clarity closer to home? SEO heaven?

Yes that is my rather awkward seguing into the main event, some great examples of simple linkbait or visibility tactics that I’ve seen in the past few weeks. Reviewing paused ads “feature” on Adwords can hurt honest advertisers

Today I would like to abuse my position as a State of Search blogger to start a discussion about a new feature Google announced back in September which in my opinion can really hurt an honest advertiser. I’m talking about an e-mail all Adwords advertisers received from Google, saying that they also start actively reviewing paused ads.

In some cases, this can really hurt an advertiser, even though he might be doing everything right. It hit one of my clients last week and after a short and useless discussion with Google support I decided to blog about it. Maybe it will help. (more…)
